Denison Witmer – Focus Ring feat. Sufjan Stevens

Denison Witmer returns with “Focus Ring”, a thoughtful reflection on self-care and generosity, featuring long-time collaborator Sufjan Stevens. The track previews Witmer’s upcoming album “Anything At All”, set for release on February 14th, 2024 through Asthmatic Kitty Records.

This new project marks a significant milestone in Witmer and Stevens’ 20-year friendship, with Stevens taking the helm as producer for the first time on a complete Witmer album. The recording took place primarily in Stevens’ Catskills studio.

The album focuses on finding meaning in everyday life, from bird watching to carpentry, while exploring deeper questions about creating a better world for family and community. Witmer’s straightforward delivery pairs naturally with Stevens’ distinctive production style, featuring subtle layers of strings, woodwinds, and choral arrangements.
